Connor Receives Youth Citizenship Award

This week's recipient of the Cattaraugus County Youth Bureau's Youth Citizenship Award is Chelsea Connor, a senior at Randolph High School.
She is the daughter of Erika and Michael Connor and lives in Randolph.
Chelsea's community service involvement includes being in Girl Scouts, Make a Difference Day, food drives, and can drives. She is involved in the Youth Group and choir at Randolph Presbyterian Church. Also, Chelsea has traveled to Haiti on a mission trip to help with vacation bible school.
In school, Chelsea is a member of National Honor Society, vice president of Student Council, chorus, plays clarinet in the band and served as a team member with the Cattaraugus County Youth Court. She also has participated in solo festivals for voice and clarinet, and was selected for All-County participation for voice and clarinet. She traveled to Europe with American Music Abroad as an alto in the choir. Chelsea is also on the varsity volleyball and track teams. Chelsea has also received the Frederick Douglas/Susan B. Anthony Citizenship Award.
Chelsea's interests and hobbies include music, dancing and being with her friends. Her future goals are to attend college and pursue a career in child psychiatry.
The Cattaraugus County Youth Bureau is accepting Student of the Week nominations of exceptional high school seniors for the 2009-10 school year.
