Johnson Is Recipient Of Feather Memorial Scholarship

The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Academy is pleased to announce that Recruit Luke Johnson is the 12th recipient of the $800 Dan Feather Memorial Scholarship. Johnson is currently attending the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Academy at Jamestown Community College in the hopes of pursuing a career in law enforcement. He is from Fredonia, and he attended Fredonia High School, graduating in 2007. He also graduated from Jamestown Community College with a major in criminal justice.
The Dan Feather Memorial Scholarship was created by Verna Feather, who is the widow of Dan Feather, an 18-year veteran of the Jamestown Police Department. The recipient of this scholarship must be a Chautauqua County resident; currently attending the Sheriff's Academy and possesses qualities which reflect the professionalism and character that Officer Feather demonstrated during his service as a police officer.
It is the hope of Mrs. Feather that this scholarship can be a lasting memorial to Dan and also help those who are just starting out in the pursuit of a career in police work.
This scholarship is administrated through the Community Foundation.
