OBSERVER Staff Report
There are 25 legislative seats in the Chautauqua County Legislature. Of those, 15 are being challenged this November. Below are area legislative seats. See the map on page A10 to show where the district lie.
District 1
Keith Ahlstrom of Dunkirk, is running unopposed. Along with the Democratic Party, he has been endorsed by the Working Families and Independence parties.
District 2
Shaun Heenan of Dunkirk, is running unopposed. Along with the Democratic Party, he has been endorsed by the Independence and Working Familes parties.
District 3
Robert Duff of Sheridan is running unopposed. He has been endorsed by the Democratic, Republican and Conservative parties.
District 4
David Wilder of Silver Creek, is running for re-election. He is being challenged by George Borrello of Irving. Wilder has been endorsed by the Democratic and Working Families parties, while Borrello has been endorsed by the Republican, Conservative and Independence parties.
District 5
Jerry Park of Villenova, is running unopposed. He has been endorsed by the Republican and Conservative parties.
District 6
John Runkle of Cassadaga was appointed to this seat after Brian Abrams left to become the county Republican Election Commissioner. Runkle is seeking to retain the seat. He is being challenged by Rebecca White of Pomfret. Runkle has been endorsed by the Republican, Conservative and Working Families parties, while White has been endorsed by the Democratic and Independence parties.
District 21
James Caflisch of French Creek is running for re-election. He is being challenged by Ronald Vahl of Mina. Caflisch has been endorsed b y the Republican and Conservative parties. Vahl has been endorsed by the Democratic, Independence and Working Families parties.
District 22
Doug Richmond of Westfield is running unopposed. He has been endorsed by the Republican and Conservative parties.
District 23
Thomas DeJoe of Brocton is running unopposed. He has been endorsed by the Democratic, Conservative, Independence and Working Families parties.
District 24
David Kleparek of Fredonia is running for re-election. He is being challenged by Robert Scudder of Fredonia. Kleparek has been endorsed by the Democratic Party, while Scudder has been endorsed by the Republican, Independence and Conservative parties.
District 25
Incumbent Legislator Steve Keefe of Fredonia has chosen not to seek re-election. There are two candidates vying for the seat. John P. Gullo of Fredonia has been endorsed by the Democratic, Independence and Conservative parties, while Jacqueline Penfold-Williams has been endorsed by the Republican Party.
