Salamanca School Superintendent Douglas Hay presented a $100 check to the United Way of Southern Chautauqua County, after his school lost a friendly competition with Panama Central School, where his wife, Carol, is superintendent. Panama Central had a greater percentage of increased employee donors. The contest required that the losing superintendent would wear the colors of the winning school, plus present a $100 personal check to the winner's local United Way. Shown from left are Sandi Brundage and Candace Plants of the United Way of Cattaraugus County; Douglas Hay, Salamanca School superintendent; Carol Hay, Panama Central School superintendent; and Michael Moots, United Way of Southern Chautauqua County.
