WESTFIELD - Westfield resident Doug Richmond is seeking re-election to the Chautauqua County Legislature. Richmond is endorsed by the Republican Party, Conservative Party, CSEA Local 1000 AFSCME and AFL-CIO.

Richmond was first appointed to Legislature in 2001, serving District 22, which is all of Westfield and the northern edge of Ripley. He is currently serving as Assistant Minority Leader, Audit and Control committee member and Public Safety Committee member. He is one of the two legislators appointed to the Chautauqua Opportunities Inc. Board, where he serves as vice chairman. He is also on the Finance Committee, and is the only legislator appointed to the Chautauqua County Board of Health. Richmond also was appointed to the New York State Region Nine Fish and Wildlife Board and also serves on the Shared Services committee.

In the past, he has served on the County Planning and Economic Committee, Administrative Services Committee and Public Facilities Committee.

He currently serves on the Westfield Development Board. In the past, he was a member of the Westfield Town Board for 10 years and the Barcelona Harbor Commission for 18 years (several as president).

He is a past member of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce and served as president of the Northern Chamber of Commerce in 1997. He received the Westfield Chamber's Service Award in 1999.

While Richmond has retired from the insurance business, he still maintains an office at 27 E. Main St. and welcomes everyone to stop by to discuss county government activities.
