Cynthia R. "Cindy" Carter, 73, of 3254 Drybrook Road, Falconer, passed away at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday (October 27, 2009) in WCA Hospital.

A lifelong area resident she was born March 15, 1936, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary White Rigby.

Cindy was a 1953 graduate of Falconer High School and was employed by Chase Bank. She had also worked at Falconer Printing during retirement.

She was a member of the Henry Mosher 638, American Legion Auxiliary, having served as treasurer, and was also a member of the Falconer Moose Club.

Surviving are her husband James F. Carter, whom she married February 20, 1960, in Falconer, two daughters: Brenda (Ken) Everett of Falconer, Laura (Jim) Heldt of Howards Grove, Wisc., a son, Michael "Mike" Carter of Kennedy, seven grandchildren: Kendra Everett, Rex Everett, Collin Everett, Lydia Everett, Brandon Carter and Ryan Carter, and a great-granddaughter, Catherine Carter.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters: Rosalie Jordan, Lillian Howbridge and Thelma Sanders.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Henry Mosher Post 638, American Legion Auxiliary or to the Kennedy Volunteer Fire Department.
