LITTLE VALLEY - An Election Day chicken and biscuit dinner will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Little Valley Fire Hall.

Dinners cost $7 for adults and $5 for children between the age of 5 and 12. Anyone who wants take-out dinners can order them by calling the fire hall at 938-9151 before Nov. 3.

The dinner is sponsored by the Little Valley Holiday Cheer Committee to raise money for its annual December Gifts for Children Program. In 2008, the committee helped more than 40 families in the Little Valley area who needed assistance during the holiday season.

The committee is helped by several organizations and individuals who adopt families by providing gifts for their children. Others furnish food, money and cleaning products. The program is coordinated by Ann Poole (938-6802), Gretchen Taft (938-6332) and Sue Labuhn, Little Valley Elementary School nurse, who may be reached at 938-9155. Families in need may call any of the women for help.

Along with the dinner, the committee is giving away two Nintendo Wiis. The Wiis are on display at the Cattaraugus County Bank in Little Valley and will be at the Memorial Library of Little Valley prior to being shown at the dinner. Tickets may be purchased at the bank, the library and at the dinner. The cost is $1 for one ticket, $2 for three tickets and $5 for 10 tickets. The giveaway will be at the end of the dinner.
