Robert R. ''Bobby'' Whitford, 56, of 15 E. Pearl St., Falconer, passed away at 1:16 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 25, 2009) in WCA Hospital.

He was born Jan. 16, 1953, in Jamestown, the son of the late Floyd and Mary Ellen Clark Whitford of Sinclairville.

He was a 1971 graduate of Cassadaga Valley High School and was employed as a stock boy in 1972 by Barmore-Sellstrom, where he continued to work until 1995, when he and his two partners Chris Barmore and Ken Crossley purchased the business.

Bob was a past member of the Randolph Moose and life member of the Sinclairville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and salt-water fishing. He had sponsored the Women's Bowling Monday Night Ladies Classic since 1995. But most of all he enjoyed his family, friends and his business. His hard work was appreciated by his customer's loyalty. His greatest pride was his children and grandchildren. For everyone who knew him, he always had a smile and a hand to help. His wife was his best friend, she had his heart, his hopes and his dreams.

He will be sadly missed by those who survive him, his wife, Sheila Fowler Whitford, whom he married Sept. 29, 1973; his son, G. Andrew Whitford of Charlotte, N.C.; his daughter, Andrea Whitford of Brocton; four grandchildren, Tracey, Tyler and Damion Dalton, all of Brocton, and Hadly Kilpert-Dipuzza of Manhattan; his brothers and sisters, William (Judy) Whitford of Canandaigua, N.Y., Juanita (Bob) LeBaron of Charleston, S.C., Jackie Theis (Warren Whitford) of Lakewood, and Thomas Whitford of Columbus, Ohio; several nieces and nephews, and he will also be missed by his ''Golden Girls,'' Jody Bevacqua and Mary Woodfield, who knew the best of him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to give remembrances of Bob at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
