Falconer’s Perfect Season Continues

FREDONIA - Falconer's perfect season remained just that on Wednesday as the Lady Golden Falcons (10-0, 12-0) swept Fredonia, 3-0, in Division 1 girls volleyball.

Falconer posted games of 26-24, 25-15 and 25-12 with Cherise Gunnell picking up 29 assists, Ashley Gunnell added seven kills and a block, Corri Hannon had six kills and Jessica D'Angelo had three aces in the win.

For Fredonia (6-6, 7-7), Amy Seybold collected six assists and seven digs and Michelle Naparella had six kills and three blocks.

Falconer also won the junior varsity match.

LADY GATORS ROLL

Allegany-Limestone (7-4, 7-7) cruised past Olean, 26-24, 25-9 and 25-20.

For the Lady Gators, Amanda Roosa had 15 ponts, three aces, five kills and seven assists, Caitlin Martin added seven points, two aces, 10 kills and four assists and Brandi Brougham had six points, three aces, seven kills and two blocks.

For Olean (4-7, 4-8), Natalie Malik had eight points, four aces and three kills, Aimee Marcelli had five blocks and two kills and Melanie Yanetsko made three kills with three digs and a block.

Olean won the junior varsity match.

DIVISION 2

PORTVILLE TOPS CLCS

PORTVILLE - Portville's Jenny Olson had18 kills, three blocks and 22 digs in a 3-1 win over Chautauqua Lake (5-7) in Division 2 girls volleyball on Wednesday posting games of 25-18, 25-17, 25-27 and 25-19

Also for the winners, Carley Donahue had eight kills, 18 digs and five blocks, Karli Jobe added 17 assists and four blocks and Justine Zink had eight blocks and six kills.

For the Lady Thunderbirds. Julia Einink had 12 kills and three aces, Jenn Fuller added 11 kills and 10 digs, Jill Einink contributed eight kills and 15 digs and Jenny Brown had 15 assists and nine digs.

Chautauqua Lake prevailed in the jayvee match, 25-13, 25-9 and 25-16.

T'WOLVES WIN

WESTFIELD - Cattaraugus-Little Valley ran its record to 10-2 overall and 9-2 in the division with a 25-19, 25-10, 25-12 victory over Westfield.

Leeann Freeman had five kills and four blocks, and Kelsey Kyser added five kills for the Lady Wolverines (2-11, 1-10).

SILVER CREEK PREVAILS

The Silver Creek Lady Black Knights jumped out to a quick start on their way to a 25-9, 25-22, 25-22 victory over Salamanca.

Jessica Pelz had four kills, three digs and two aces, Brandi Olsen 13 assists, two kills and five digs, and Sara Sacks five kills, two blocks and four digs for Silver Creek (4-8, 3-8).

Kaylea Miller paced Salamanca (2-10, 1-10) with three blocks and two kills, and Marianne Manner had one block, one kill and two assists.

DIVISION 3

WEST VALLEY WINS

RIPLEY - Becky Dashnaw recorded eight hits and six blocks and Becca Howe 13 points as West Valley defeated Ripley, 25-17, 25-22 and 25-12 in Division 3 girls volleyball on Tuesday.

Kailyn Bentley produced eight assists and one kill, Haley Potter came through with one ace, one dig and three kills,

Becky Scholeno one ace, two digs and one kill, Christian Swoger had six digs and three kills and Carly Yokom added three digs and a kill for Ripley (6-7).
