MAYVILLE - Michael W. Raynor, 62, of 18 North Erie St., Mayville, died Thursday (Sept. 24, 2009), at his home.

He was born Jan. 10, 1947, in Westfield, the son of the late Warren G. ''Mickey'' and Mary Jane Rexford Raynor.

Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Army as a E5 serving from 1965 to 1968 dur-ing Vietnam.

He was a former trustee and former mayor for the Village of Mayville. He was a member and past treasure of the William L. Travis American Legion Post 493 in Mayville, he was a member of Chautauqua Golf Course and Point Chautauqua Golf Course, he belonged to the Association of American Petroleum Land man, a Sea Lion supporter and crew member, and he had also been a coach for Midget Football.

Mike enjoyed golfing, bowling, basketball, and he loved his Sabres and Bills.

He is survived by two sons: Randy (Mary Ellen) Raynor of Fredonia, and Ryan (Jennifer) Raynor of Cordova, S.C.; several grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Lynn) Raynor of Westfield; a half-sister, Rene (Marty) Hemmer of Westfield; and a half-brother, Merle ''Mitch'' (Kim) Raynor of Westfield; his longtime companion and soul mate, Marilyn Morningstar of Mayville, and her children: Marc (Alisha) Carson, Lori Carson, and Colleen (Jon) Breads. all of Mayville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Maxwell Sliter on Aug. 3, 1983; his father, Warren G. "Mickey" Raynor on Dec. 23, 1990; a sister, Michelle Milliman on Jan. 16, 1996; and his mother, Mary Jane Rexford Sliter on Jan. 15, 2004.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Freay Funeral Home, Mayville.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
