DEWITTVILLE - Nor-man E. Heilman, 88, of Centralia Hartfield Road, Dewittville, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at home.
He was born Nov. 4, 1920, in Napoli, he is the son of the late Carl and Emma Badke Heilman, and attended Little Valley schools.
A self-employed dairy farmer for most of his life, he and his wife operated Sunny Crest Dairy Farm in Dewittville. He had also been employed at Black-stone in Jamestown for 15 years and Welch's of West-field for 15 years, retiring in 1985.
A devoted Christian, Norman had attended vari-ous Baptist churches. He loved to sing hymns and had sung in the Kennedy Baptist Church choir on the radio. He enjoyed his dogs and birds.
Husband of 67 years to Irene Lilan Heilman, whom he married April 5, 1942; father of Donna (Edward) Bowman of Cherry Creek, David (Lynda) Heilman of Atlanta, Ga., Joan (Dennis) Barrus of Jamestown, Carl (Georgia) Heilman of Dewittville, Dennis (Patri-cia) Heilman of Westfield, and the late Wayne (Carol Moore of Frewsburg) Heil-man; grandfather of 23; great-grandfather of 54; great-great-grandfather of one; brother of the late Emma Abers, Olga Gal-braith, Helena Felt and the late Bill, Henry, Walter and Herman Heilman.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church of Mayville, 59 S. Erie St., Mayville. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sun-day in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.
