City Man Charged In Rape Of Warren Woman

A Jamestown man is in the Warren County Jail after Pennsylvania authorities investigated an alleged rape.
Louis Jason Jackson, 37, of 708 Foote Ave., Apt. 116, was charged with rape, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and sexual assault, stemming from an investigation initiated last month.
According to an affidavit filed in District Judge Art Zerbe's office by Warren City Police Investigator Anthony Chimenti, officers were called to Warren General Hospital's emergency room to investigate a sexual assault on Aug. 23.
The victim stated she had met Jackson at Sneakers tavern in Jamestown, and the two became friendly with each other and exchanged cell phone numbers.
The woman said she felt this was an innocent relationship of just being friends because she is a lesbian, and made her sexual orientation known to Jackson.
According to the affidavit, on Friday, Aug. 21, the victim stated she made arrangements with the defendant to go to the movies and maybe dinner.
The victim said they agreed to meet in Warren for a drink but when a rendezvous at a local bar didn't work out, they met at her apartment, where she was allegedly raped.
Chimenti traveled to Jamestown to speak with administration at the Jamestown Police Department, and received assistance with the investigation.
"He advised us about the complaint and a couple of our detectives helped him with some information," said JPD Capt. Robert Samuelson. "Then the next day, we picked him up on the warrant and charged him for being a fugitive from justice."
Jackson was arraigned in Jamestown City Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail where he was extradited back to Warren.
A photo lineup was composed, according to the affidavit, and when presented to the victim, she positively identified Jackson as the person who had raped her.
District Judge Cynthia Lindemuth set bail at $75,000 and Jackson is being held at Warren County Jail, according to a spokeswoman from Zerbe's office. He will return to court in the coming weeks.

Im cracking up at some of the comments. People assume because he is Black he is a drug dealer adn must be from some bigger city. WOW! As far as the rest of the comments...The truth will prevail. The woman went to the hospital after the incident, so I am sure the proof will be in the pudding. Weather it happened or it did not. Forensics will speak out.

NewYork716 - I checked with our crime reporter as far as how we handle omitting information, and this is what he told me: "As far as omitting names of those accused of a crime, it only happens when someone is charged with a violation. The paper does not print the names of those charged with less than a misdemeanor unless it is in conjunction with an automobile accident." I will agree with you that his family does not deserve the fall out from his actions. But I will also say that, should he be found guilty, he should have considered the effect on his family before he committed the (alleged) crime. I note with disappointment (although not with surprise) that you are leaving this discussion without answering my question regarding how you would have written the story's headline differently - an action that calls into question the validity of your complaint.

If you're going to make accusations that the newspaper is being unfair, offer specific examples instead of hiding behind anonymity. When have we omitted the name of someone charged with a crime? Bold print and the face of a black man - well, I can't help our font styles and I can't help it that the accused is black. It's not like we doctored his photo in Microsoft Paint or anything - and how is publishing the photograph of an accused person a scare tactic? Come on, now, play nice. I asked you a fair question and you ignored it. You took issue with the headline - how would you have worded it differently?
