Allegheny Outdoor Club Slates Events
WARREN - The Allegheny Outdoor Club have several events upcoming. They include:
On Thursday, the AOC will be riding bikes in the Frewsburg, area. Participants will meet at the Quality Market in Frewsburg at 5:30 p.m. For more information call event leader Pat Spicer at 814-757-8331.
On Friday, the group will be bike riding from Hearts Content to Sheffield via Bull Hill. Participants will meet at the Hearts Content parking lot at 10 a.m. Riders should bring plenty of water and a lunch for this event. For more information call event leader Pat Spicer at 814-757-8331.
On Sunday, the group will hike Gardner's Rocks. Participants should meet at the Hatch Run Conservation Area pavilion parking lot on Hatch Run Road at 1:30 p.m. For more information call event leaders Bill or Jean Ferry at 814-757-9260
On Wednesday, Sept. 2, the group will hold its fall planning meeting at 6 p.m. at the home of John and Debra Young at 1588 Townline Road in Russell. Members will be scheduling events for October, November, and December. This will be an eating-meeting so bring a dish to pass. For more information, call John or Debra Young at 814-757-8158.
The AOC will also be finalizing the hiking schedule for the upcoming Keystone Trails Association annual meeting and hiking event, which will be held on the weekend of Sept. 25-27 In Marienville. All hike leaders, including those from the Allegheny National Forest Chapter of the North Country Trail Association, are invited to the meeting.
The Keystone Trails Association, which began in 1956, is the coordinating agency of an alliance of statewide hiking groups comprised of more than 40 clubs and more than 1,000 individual members. It is headquartered in Harrisburg, where it monitors government action with regard to issues concerning public hiking trails in Pennsylvania.
