Northwest Savings Bank has promoted Christopher Hobbs to the position of corporate assistant vice president, operations services manager.
In this capacity, Hobbs will oversee the operations services for both retail and commercial banking that support Northwest's 168 community banking locations in five states, including the staffs and functioning of processing services, product support services, transaction services, operations support services and IRA services. David E. Westerburg, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, made the announcement.
Hobbs joined the management trainee program of Northwest Savings Bank in October 1999.
He was promoted to assistant manager of the downtown Warren office in 2001and also served as assistant manager of the Warren West Side office.
In 2003, he served as a support team leader during the merger between Northwest and Bell Federal Savings in Pittsburgh.
Hobbs was promoted to Automated Clearing House manager in 2004 and was given responsibility for business services operations in 2006.
He was responsible for introducing Express Deposit, Northwest's remote capture product, to Northwest's business customers.
Hobbs earned an associates degree in business management from Olean Business Institute in 1995.
He received his Accredited ACH Professional accreditation and graduated from the Payments Institute in 2004, and he graduated from the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Advanced School of Banking at Bucknell University in 2007.
Hobbs serves as a member of the St. Joseph School Board and as treasurer of the St. Joseph School PTU.
He and his wife, Valerie, and their children, Bailey, Kaitlyn, Grace, and Will, live in Warren.
