The Jamestown Seventh-day Adventist Church will hold the next concert in its summer concert series at 7 p.m. Sunday featuring Richard Octaviano Kogima of Brazil and Claudio Espejo Araneda of Chile in "Extraordinary Piano Extravaganza - Part II."

The performance will include the works of Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Debussy, Rachmaninov, Villa-Lobos and others. Admission is free and open to the public. The Jamestown Seventh-day Adventist Church is located at 130 McDaniel Ave., Jamestown. For more information, call 484-2065.

"I have a riddle for you. What do you get when you have Chautauqua Institution musicians performing in Jamestown?,'' asked Samuel Indreiu, Jamestown Seventh-day Adventist Church pastor. ''You guessed it - of course you get the James-tauqua Summer Concert Series. Well, whatever we call it you can be sure that the performances will be top notch, with cream-of-the-crop musicians."

Following Sunday's concert, the next concert in the series will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8. The performers will be Jacques Israelievitch on violin accompanied on the piano by Kanae Matsumoto. They will be presenting an all-Beethoven concert.

"We are very excited about this concert - this is something that doesn't happen in Jamestown often, to have one of the top violinists in the world perform in our neighborhood,'' Indreiu said. ''It will be an incredible evening."

Israelievitch served as Concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra for 20 years and was formerly assistant concertmaster of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for six years under Sir George Solti and concertmaster of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra for 10 years. He is chair of strings at the Chautauqua Institution and a full-time faculty member at York University in Toronto. In growing demand as a conductor, he has been music director of the Koffler Chamber Orchestra since 2005.

Pianist Kanae Matsumoto is active as a soloist, having performed many recitals in Germany, Italy, Russia, Japan and the United States. In 2006 she joined the faculty of UCLA. During the summer, she serves as a faculty collaborative pianist at the Chautauqua Institution Music Festival. Highlights of her collaborative activities in 2009 include an appearance with the Chamber Music Society of the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall and a performance of Beethoven's complete Violin Sonatas in Toronto and at the Chautauqua Music Festival with Israelievitch.
