Mother Nature Wins At Stateline
By Glenn SlocumBUSTI - Rain ended racing on the Bear Lake Inn-sponsored night at Stateline Speedway on Saturday.
Hot laps were run for the ASCS Patriot Sprints and then Tabetha Houser went from seventh to first on the first lap of the Lady Challenger feature and never looked back to win her third feature of the season. Larry Campbell led from lap three winning his first Super Challenger feature of the season. During the second Super Late Model heat race the rain began ending racing for the evening.
Richard Langer was the early leader in the Super Challenger feature. Tyler Little was running second when debris brought out the first caution of the evening. The second yellow appeared on the restart as Matt Gruber came to a stop facing the wrong direction on the back stretch. Larry Campbell was alongside Langer for the restart and won the race to turn one becoming the new race leader. Langer was second with Joe Karash third.
A third yellow was for Alex Burch with five laps complete. Little stopped in turn four with nine laps complete for caution four. Campbell, William Pinkney and Karash were the restart leaders.
Pinkney lost the left rear wheel while trying to pass for the lead and Campbell held the lead for the remainder of the race for his first win of the year.
