Louisa Heitzenrater, 78, of Gowanda, died July 22, 2009.
She was the wife of the late George Heitzenrater Sr.; daughter of the late Luella and Harry Phillips. She is survived by her children: George (Teresa) Heitzenrater of Gowanda, Kathy (Kenneth) Gens of Dayton, Ruth Booth of Gowanda, Robert (Barb) Heitzenrater Sr. of South Dayton, and Nancy (Roy) Keith of Little Valley. Along with her grandchildren: Anedda (Don) Trautman, Shawn Booth, Shannon (Bill) Coolidge, Amme Gens, Robert Jr., Rebecca, Melinda, Cory, Kyle, and Jarred Heitzenrater, and 12 great-grandchildren. Louisa was survived by her sister, Margaret (Peg) Razey and brother, Charles Phillips. Preceded in death by brothers: Harry, Frederick and John and sister Janice Edwards.
She was a member of the South Dayton American Legion Auxiliary, Gowanda Ambulance Board and past member of the Dayton Fire Department Auxiliary.
She enjoyed spending her time gardening, crocheting, playing Bingo, and just being ''Gram''.
Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home, Inc., 105 East Main St., Gowanda, N.Y., on Friday, July 24, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 11 a.m.
Burial in Jolls Cemetery in Perrysburg, N.Y.
Memorial contributions may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute Ovarian Cancer Research and the Dayton Fire Department.
