BUSTI - Rain threatened most of the day, but race-time the clouds parted and sunshine greeted fans for the Jed Lyon Memorial. Pine Grove Archery and the Sugar Shack sponsored the events.

Chad Carlson successfully defended his Outlaw Cadet King of the Hill title beating current point-leader Mike Moore in the final round. The Jed Lyon Outlaw Cadet Memorial also featured a duel between Carlson and Moore and like the first, Carlson won for his first feature win of the season.

Brandon Groters notched his second Spectator win from his 15th starting spot. Doug Eck led from start to finish as he won his second Super Late Model feature of the season and Ben Burgess Jr. led from lap four of the Sugar Shack Super Sportsman Special for his first win of the season. Dave Lyon, grandson of Jed Lyon, won the E-Mod feature his first of the season leading every lap of the event and Elaine Best won the Lady Challenger feature her first of the season. Also, Bobby Rouche won the first Super Challenger feature and William Pinkney won the second.

Tyler Green and Dave Tackett were first and second for the Jed Lyon Memorial race, but at the end of the first lap it was Carlson and Mike Moore out in front. Carlson led the first two, then Moore led the third. The yellow flew for Dave Tackett on lap four.

The yellow quickly followed the green as Leonard Enos stopped on the back stretch. Rodney Thoms did not go on the restart for caution three. Moore, Carlson, Steve Moynihan, John Cline and Paul Norman Jr. were the leaders after the restart.

Carlson beat Moore to the line as the crossed flags were shown. Debris brought out the caution with 10 laps complete and a light rain began during the yellow. Carlson was able to pull away from Moore over the final five laps winning the event with a ten-car length lead.

Andy Kania and Eck were the Super Late Model feature front row with Doug Ricotta and Dick Barton in row two. Kania was the first into turn one but Eck led at the line. Ricottas was second, Scott Gurdak third and Chris Hackett fourth. A lap-six yellow for Pete Alspaugh slowed the race. Eck, Kania, Barton, Hackett and Gurdak were the top five for the restart.

Hackett, Barton and Gurdak were three wide behind Kania after the restart with Hackett coming out on top. Hackett passed Kania on the next lap to try and catch Eck, who led by nearly a straight away. On lap 15 Eck had caught the tail end of the field. With five laps to go Eck was still in heavy lap traffic, but Hackett was unable to close. Eck took the win, his second of the season.

Dave Lyon led the first lap of the E-Mod main event. Debris brought out the caution with two laps complete and Lyon and Scott Gurdak were the restart leaders. Lyon edged Gurdak to led lap three just before the second yellow flew as Greg Johnson spun in turn two.

Ron Seeley joined the fray on the restart taking second from Gurdak. Just two more laps were complete before yellow number three involving Derrick Middleton and Chet Sheets. Four cars tangled on the restart including Johnson, John Kelsey, Michael McGee and Anthony Marotto. With eight complete Lyon led Seeley by two car lengths with Gurdak five behind Seeley. Middleton spun on nine for caution five.

Another multi-car tangle with 12 complete caused caution six. Lyon remained the race leader and point leader Justin Carlson was fourth behind Seeley and Gurdak. Lyon won by 10 car lengths over Seeley his first win of the season.

Jerry Fish and Damon Lewis were on the front row for the Spectator feature with Chad Schauers and Casey Burch in row two. Lewis led by several car lengths at the completion or lap one with Schauers second. The first caution flew with three laps complete for Stan Davis Jr. and Brandon Peirce. Lewis stayed out in front with Mike Moon moving up to second pushing Schauers back to third to tangle with Brandon Groters. Groters took the spot from Schauers just before the second yellow for the pole-starter Fish.

Gary Fisher was fifth for the lap eight restart all the way up from his 20th starting spot. Groters grabbed second from Moon on the restart then beat Lewis to the line on lap 10 to become the new leader. Dave Tackett and Matt Harvey brought out the third caution with eleven of the scheduled 15 laps complete. With two laps remaining Kevin Hill spun in the exit of turn four allowing the field to close with Groters. Fisher was fourth for the restart and Damian Bidwell fifth.

Groters took the yellow and the checkers as Schauers spun on the final lap.

Ron Burgun was the early leader in the Super Sportsman feature. Burgun had troubles on lap four spinning to a stop in the exit of turn four collecting Pete Volpe. Ben Burgess Jr. was the new leader with Joe Buccola Jr. second, Wade Watson third and Dan Nocero Jr. fifth. Buccola nearly spun on lap five allowing Nocero by for second.

Point-leader John Boardman had advanced to third with Buccola fourth and Watson fifth. Tom Kosinski scrapped to stop on the back stretch concrete with 11 laps complete for the second caution. Steve Kania's car left the speedway on lap 15 in a cloud of smoke. Burgess ran unchallenged through the final laps for his first win of the season.
