Alan and Joan Woodard of Jamestown, N.Y., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 28, 2009, with a family dinner at the Nic-L-Inn. The celebration was hosted by their children, Denise (Barry) Pribs of Stedman, N.C., and Michael Woodard of Lancaster, N.Y. Out of state guests attended from Massachusetts.
Woodard and the former Joan Marie Herlet were married on June 28, 1959, in Kidder Memorial Church. The Rev. Bertil Peterson performed the ceremony.

Woodard is retired from the M.R.C. Division of S.K.F. Bearing, where he had been employed as a shop floor manufacturing manager. Mrs. Woodard had been employed by Falconer Plate Glass. They are members of Kiantone Senior Citizens, South Hills Country Club and Kiantone Congregational Church.
