DEWITTVILLE - Francis N. "Frank" Trubits, 80, of 7097 East Ave., Dewittville, N.Y., died Tuesday (May 19, 2009) at

Absolut Care in Westfield, N.Y.

He was born September 5, 1928, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., the son of the late John and Susan Kitcho Trubits.

Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He had been a pharmaceutical sales representative for GlaxoSmithKline. Frank was a member of St. Mary of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Mayville, Lake Chautauqua Memorial Post 8647 VFW in Mayville, Chautauqua County Office for Aging ombudsman, and University of Tennessee Lettermen's Club.

Frank's goal in life was to make people laugh. He accomplished that.

He is survived by his wife, Clara "Claire" Richer Ritter Trubits, whom he married March 1, 1980, in Williamsville, N.Y.; nine children: Paul (Jean) Tru-bits of Salisbury, Maryland, Catherine (George) Stubbs of Northport, N.Y., James (Gina) Trubits of Lancaster, N.Y., William (Beth) Trubits of Tigard, Ore., Mary (Andrew) Hunt of Amherst, N.Y., Roberta (James) Coyle of Leesburg, Va., Kathleen (Richard) Busch of Bakersfield, Calif., Mark (Cheryl) Ritter of Lake

Oswego, Ore., and Peter (Dawn) Ritter of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren Benjamin, Jennifer, Daniel, Amanda, Timothy, Ryan, Joshua, Lucia, Emily, Myles, Sarah, Molly, Casey, Peter, Marc, Jonathan, Anastasia, Kelsey and Hannah; one sister, Dorothy Baldau of South Burlington, Vt.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Trubits.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (July 18, 2009) in St. Mary of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Mayville. The Rev. Todd Remick, the Rev. Bernard Nowak, the Rev. John Kuhlmann, the Rev. William Barrett and

the Rev. Gordon DeLaVars will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Mayville, Dewittville Fire Department or Roswell

Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, N.Y.

The Freay Funeral Home in Mayville is in charge of arrangements.
