George and Maxine Gens of Fredonia, N.Y., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 6, 2009, with the renewal of their vows and a reception. The reception was hosted by their children: David Gens of Fredonia, Karen Jakiel of Erie, Pa., and Brian Gens of Warwick, N.Y. Special music was provided by their son, Brian Gens. Out of state guests attended from Pennsylvania, Ohio and North Carolina.
Gens and the former Maxine Bull were married June 6, 1959, at the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia, N.Y. The Rev. Jolley performed the ceremony.
