JAMESTOWN POLICE
Jose Alicea Jr., of Jamestown was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and driving without a front license plate Wednesday, after a traffic stop on Prendergast Avenue around 7:15 p.m. Police say they pulled over his gray Hyundai because there was no license plate on the front, and a subsequent investigation determined that he was intoxicated. Since he has a previous DWI conviction in the past ten years, the charge was elevated to a felony. He was taken to the city jail and held awaiting arraignment.
Joe F. Harper, of Lakewood was charged with DWI Thursday after he was pulled over for driving without his headlights turned on around 2 a.m. on East Second Street. Harper was taken to the city jail and held awaiting arraignment.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
DUNKIRK- Jeffery M. Storey, 37, of Dunkirk was charged with four counts of third-degree rape and one count of committing a criminal sex act this week following an investigation into a relationship he allegedly had with an underage female between March and April 2009. He was indicted by a grand jury after the district attorney's office presented its case and turned himself in to Chautauqua County Court. He was arraigned by Judge John Ward and sent to the county jail where he is being held in lieu of $5,000 bail.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE
LAKEWOOD- Jose A.S. Rosario, 20, of Randolph was charged with second-degree criminal personation and three counts of petit larceny Thursday, following an investigation into several instances of retail theft from the Sears store in the Chautauqua Mall. Investigators say that while emnployed at Sears, Rosario returned merchandise he didn't purchase using false names and ended up making $568.82 in profit. He will appear in Busti Town Court later.
SOUTHERN TIER REGIONAL DRUG TASK FORCE
FREDONIA- Andrew C. Pesicek, 18, of Fredonia was charged with third-degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance and third and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon Thursday, after the Chautauqua County SWAT Team and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force executed a search and arrest warrant at his home on Eagle Street just before 8 a.m. Officers say there were several people found inside the house at 20 Eagle Street but Pesicek was found leaving the home and taken into custody. The drug-related charges stem from a three-month investigation which was a collaborative effort between the task force, the Fredonia Police Department and the public. The weapons charges were filed because Pesicek was allegedly found with a stun gun and a sawed off shotgun. He was arraigned in front of Judge Price in Fredonia and sent to the county jail where he will be held awaiting his next court date. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected, officers say.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
ELLERY- Derrick J. Szulinski, 33, of Cranberry Township, Pa., was charged with first-offense DWI on July 5, after he was pulled over on I-86 in Ellery. Troopers say he was taken into custody, processed and released to a third party with an appearance ticket.
HANOVER- John P. Rzucek, 25, of Blasdell was charged with first-offense DWI, failure to notify the DMV of an address change and parking on the highway on July 4, after he was pulled over on Allegany Road in Hanover around 10 p.m. He was released on his own recognizance to appear in court later.
DUNKIRK- Arthur D. Anders, 63, of Dunkirk was charged with first-offense DWI and failure to signal following a traffic stop around 7:40 p.m. on July 5 on East Chestnut Street. He was taken into custody, processed and released to a third party with an appearance ticket.
POLAND- Jenifer Manz, 47, of Ellington was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, first-offense DWI and unlawful possession of marijuana Monday, following a traffic stop on Route 394 around 9:45 p.m. She was taken into custody and held awaiting arraignment.
ELLICOTT- Don R. Johnson, 59, of Jamestown was charged with first-offense DWI Tuesday after a traffic stop on I-86 around 8 a.m. He was processed and released to a third party with an appearance ticket.
CASSADAGA- David Fehlman, 21, of Lakewood was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment Monday, stemming from an incident which allegedly took place on June 22. He will be in court later.
SHERMAN-During a road block checkpoint on Waits Corners Road in Sherman last weekend in conjunction with the Great Blue Heron Festival, troopers issued at least 21 tickets for unlawful possession of marijuana, three tickets for unlawful possession of fireworks and five tickets for underage possession of alcohol. Misdemeanor arrests made during the same time period are listed below.
SHERMAN- Christopher P. Myers, 34, of McKean, Pa., was charged with felony DWI on July 3 after he was stopped on Waits Corners Road in Sherman around 4 p.m. Troopers say that he has two previous DWI convictions in the past ten years making the charge a felony. He was taken into custody and held awaiting arraignment.
SHERMAN- Sean M. Lewis, 21, of North East, Pa., was charged with fifth and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and a misdemeanor-level fireworks violation on July 3 at 4:20 p.m., in conjunction with the roadblock on Waits Corners Road in Sherman. He was released with an appearance ticket and will be in court later.
WESTFIELD POLICE
Joseph A. Johnson, 26, of Westfield was charged with DWI, driving with improper license plates, driving without insurance and driving an unregistered vehicle on July 4, following a traffic stop around 1:54 a.m. on Washington Street in Westfield. He was processed and released to appear in court later.
PA STATE POLICE
WARREN- John David Rackovan, 29, of Warren, Pa., was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia Tuesday after he was allegedly found to be in possession of a marijuana pipe, a digital scale and several empty baggies. He will be in court later.
