Anthony G. (Tony) Reid, 55, of Gowanda, N.Y., died July 3, 2009, after a long battle with AILD at Ros-well Park, Buffalo, N.Y.
Born Aug. 1, 1953, the son of Madeleine (Bab's) Neocker Reid and the late John Reid, who died May 17, 1991.
Born into the motorcycl business, Tony worked with his father before becoming co-owner and re-tiring from Gowanda Harley-Davidson in July 2008 as the head of its ser-vice department. Tony at-tended Harley-Davidson University, achieving a Master Tech rating.
He was a life member of the AMA, NRA and member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Gowanda, N.Y. He enjoyed hunting, wood-working, photography, working on his cars and rid-ing motorcycles. He attend-ed St. Joseph's School, Car-dinal Mindszenty and was a graduate of Gowanda Central School in 1971.
Surviving besides his mother are his wife, Liz Farner Reid, sisters Barbara Jean (Ed) Oswalt, Elizabeth (Mike) Johengen, Rebecca (Allan) Mowery, Monica (Alan) Hall and Paula (Ran-dy) Rosen; brothers David (Marilyn), John M. (Moni-ca), Robert (Nancy) and Martin (Nancy) Reid. He is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday and Tues-day from the Mentley Fun-eral Home Inc., 105 E. Main St., Gowanda, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joseph's R.C. Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, with the Rev. Daniel Walsh offi-ciating. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Roswell Park, the NRA or a charity of choice.
