JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Kyle D. Thorpe, 21, of Jamestown was charged with driving at a speed not reasonable and prudent after he crashed his vehicle on Jones and Gifford Avenue Thursday night. Police say around 11:41 p.m., Thorpe was speeding and he didn't slow down before the turn by McCrea Point Boat Landing and almost left the pavement. He then over-corrected and struck a tree stump, sending the 2004 Nissan into the air. It then hit a chain-link fence which surrounds a BPU substation, rolled over onto its roof and finally collided with the substation building. Thorpe was able to climb out of the car and escaped serious injury. He was given traffic tickets and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
SHERMAN - Matthew M. Fadale, 21, of Depew was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana Thursday after he was seen packing a marijuana pipe on Waits Corners Road near The Great Blue Heron festival. Deputies say that when Fadale was searched, they found a small amount of marijuana and three pipes. He was given an appearance ticket for the violation and released with a court date.
NORTH HARMONY - Derrick J. Nickerson, 29, of Mayville was charged with DWI and failure to stop at a stop sign Friday, following a traffic stop on the I-86 off ramp in North Harmony around 2 a.m. He will be in North Harmony town Court later.
ELLICOTT - Adam T. Zebrowski, 35, of Gerry was charged with felony DWI and failure to stop at a stop sign Friday around 12:33 a.m. after a traffic stop on the I-86 offramp in Ellicott. Deputies say a previous DWI conviction makes the current charge a felony, and Zebrowski was arraigned and sent to the county jail. He will appear in court later.
DUNKIRK - Dennis J. Harper, 52, of Dunkirk was charged with following too closely while Sharon L. Opie, 48, of Dunkirk was cited for not wearing a seatbelt after a minor collision on Routes 5 and 20 Friday around 10:45 a.m. Harper didn't see Opie in time and ran into the rear of her vehicle. Opie was taken to Lakeshore Hospital with minor injuries and Harper was uninjured. Both were given traffic tickets.
SALAMANCA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Donald Watson, 27, was charged with felony criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance Wednesday, after he destroyed a substancial amount of property during a domestic dispute. Police say that he smashed two TVs, a fishtank and destroyed various items in the home before he sent a picture of a seven-year-old holding a gun to an undisclosed recipient. Police say that when they arrived at the home, they found an airline ticket that departed the next day. Watson was charged earlier in the week in relation to the sweeps conducted by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, and with the additional charges, he is currently in the Cattaraugus County Jail being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Kimberly A. Dowdy, 37, of Steamburg was charged with third-degree assault Wednesday after an investigation into an incident that allegedly happened on June 21. Police say that while she was involved in a fight with another female the victim was bruised and cut after Dowdy punched her in he face several times. She was taken into custody and held awaiting arraignment.
Shannon M. Maybee, 26, of Salamanca was charged with second-degree harassment for her role in a June 21 fight where another female was injured. She will be in court later.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
HANOVER John R. Meller, 25, of Forestville was charged with petit larceny Thursday, following an investigation into an incident that happened on May 16 around 5:15 p.m. He was given an appearance ticket and will be in court later.
DUNKIRK - Michael A. Trippi, 42, of Fredonia was charged with second-degree criminal contempt Thursday after an investigation into an incident that happened on May 31 around 5:30 p.m. He was processed and released on his own recognizance to appear in court later.
DUNKIRK A 16-year-old female from North Lauderdale, Fla., was charged with second-degree harassment, acting in a manor to injure a child and disorderly conduct Thursday, following an incident on Courtney Street in Dunkirk. She was taken into custody and held in lieu of $500 bail.
POMFRET - Michael Goodrich, 30, of Fredonia was charged with first-offense driving while intoxicated Friday morning after a traffic stop on Webster Road on Pomfret. He was processed and released to a third party and will be in court later.
PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE
James R. Watson, 27, of Pittsfield, Pa., was charged with harassment after he grabbed a 24-year-old female by the shirt and pulled her by the feet during a domestic dispute Thursday morning.
