Gurdak Picks Up Two Wins At Eriez
HAMMETT, Pa. - Scott Gurdak made a clean sweep in both E-mod and Late Model divisions taking home the $2900 Dick Litz Memorial feature win while John Boardman continued to dominate the Sportsman class motoring to yet another win.
After an impressive heat race, Gurdak led the first in the 20-lap E-mod feature. After an early caution sent Justin Carlson to the rear of the field, he made an impressive charge to the front with four to go. After a late race caution, Gurdak took the green once again and motored to his first win of the season followed by Kevin Decker, Jack Young, Justin Carlson, and Ron Seely.
In the Jay's Auto Wrecking Super Late Models, 29 cars raced for $2900 in the Dick Litz
Memorial 29-lap feature event. Nathan Short and Gurdak bring the field to the green and lap 2 caution for Pete Alspaugh slowed the field. After the restart the field separated, but Johnson muscled his way to the second position and knocked on the door of Gurdak with two to go, but couldn't get it to stick.
Gurdak took home the win followed by Johnson, Chad Valone, Greg Oakes and Doug Eck.
Boardman was on the pole position for Glover Trucking and Gravel Sportsman and wasted no time gaining on the field with Joe Buccola in tow. In the end it was Hackett getting a great run off of turn four to take the checkers and the title as King of the Hill.
In the Rohrer Trucking Limited Lates, Chris Ward and Mike Lozowski headlined the grid for the 20-lap feature event. With three in the books, Bobby Rohrer and Greg Fenno held the top two positions as Wade Slaney battled through traffic in the fifth position. Rohrer gained on Fenno for the first 10 laps, but as Rohrer entered traffic Fenno muscled past Rohrer on the last lap to grab his second win of the season.
Rohrer battled back, but lost the handle in turn 4 leaving the top five finishers as Fenno, Chad Carlson, Slaney, Chris McGuire and Paul Norman.

A lap-nine caution for the second-place car of Coughlin slowed the field once again as Paul Shrekengost picked his way up into the second position. Chris Withers battled past Shrekengost for second with one to go. Firestone swept the night easily driving to another feature win for 2009.
