JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Lane M. Stratton of Jamestown as charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property Sunday. Police say they were in search of a vehicle with switched license plates when police stopped Stratton on South Main Street operating a vehicle with switched license plates. Stratton was also unlicensed. The owner of the license plates was found and he did press charges against Stratton.

Cain R. Colville, 17, of Jamestown was charged with obstructing government administration and resisting arrest Sunday. Police say they were responding to a call on Allen Street for people fighting. Upon arrival, officers began interviewing people and determined Colville was the source of the problem. Before officers could speak to him, he allegedly jumped out a window and attempted to flee. Colville was apprehended a short distance away and transported to city jail.

Miguel Nieves-Soto, 20, was charged with obstructing government administration, resisting arrest and numerous traffic offenses after a traffic stop Saturday. Police say they observed a Ford van traveling on Thayer Street at a high rate of speed. Officers tried to stop the vehicle, which failed to yield and attempted to elude officers. The vehicle finally stopped on Peach Street and the operator, Nieves-Soto, led officers on a foot pursuit for several blocks before officers finally caught him after he tried to resisting arrest.

Police report an 18-year-old male was charged with driving while intoxicated Saturday during a Jamestown Police Department Stop DWI unit stopped the vehicle. Police say the operator, an Ashville resident, was speeding, crossing between lanes and had a loud exhaust, which were the reasons for the traffic stop.

On Thursday and Friday the police department charged several people for violating the city noise ordinance: Michael P. Pacheco, 40, of Jamestown; Joshua A. Near, 20, of Jamestown; Lee D. Atwater, 27, of Jamestown; Dominique A. Leeper, 28, of Jamestown; Antonio F. DeJesus, 37, of Jamestown; Orpha A. Penhollow, 40, of Jamestown; Javier Carrasquillo, 30, of Jamestown; and Ashley M. Miller, 20, of Jamestown. Police said most of the violations were for loud car stereos. Pacheco and Carrasquillo were also issued for driving without a license.

Vincent D. Carper, 30, of Buffalo was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal impersonation Friday. Police say Carper was a passenger in a car and when asked his name gave police a false name. When officers found out Carper's identity there was an arrest warrant for him for third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Carper is in jail being held without bail.

CARROLL POLICE DEPARTMENT

Ericka K. Champlin was charged with issuing bad checks on Friday.

SALAMANCA POLICE DEPARTMENT

John S. Bach, 27, of Waynesboro, Pa., was picked up on an arrest warrant and transported back to Salamanca on a third-degree grand larceny charge Friday.

Paras L. Shah, 36, of State College, Pa., was charged with disobeying a traffic control device Friday.

Jodi S. Stauffer, 38, of Toledo, Ohio, was charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding Saturday.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

ELLERY - Jason A. Dale, 29, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding Sunday. Police say Dale was stopped on Route 430 for speeding when an investigation led to discovering Dale's driving privileges had been suspended.

HANOVER - Jeffrey P. Stack, 19, of Buffalo was charged with disorderly conduct after using vulgar language toward deputies Sunday.

SINCLAIRVILLE - Daniel J. Ferry, 49, of Sinclairville was charged with public lewdness and disorderly conduct on Saturday. Police say Ferry was urinating on the sidewalk while exposing his private parts to a passerby on Main Street.

CASSADAGA - Michael C. MacFarlane, 48, of Cassadaga was charged with failing to keep right and driving while intoxicated Saturday. Police were called to Hall Road for reports of a disorderly person who had driven their vehicle into a ditch.

POMFRET - Michael R. Jordan, 27, of Perrysburg was charged with no headlights and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation Saturday. Police say Jordan was operating his vehicle with no headlights and discovered that Jordan's driving privileges were revoked.

PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE

Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on East Street at the intersection with Pine Street in Pine Grove Township on Thursday. Police say Dorothy M. Fleming, 79, of Russell pulled out into the intersection, failing to give the right of way to the other vehicle, which left the highway and then rolled once landing on its wheels. Police say the operator of the second vehicle was transported to Warren General Hospital with minor injury. Ms. Fleming was not injured.

Police report that there was a burglary at the Bristow Lane Valley View Trailer Park. The theft stole $200 in cash. An investigation continues.

Heather L. Carlson, 31, of Erie, Pa., was charged with simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia Friday after a traffic stop.

Edith Pelisari, 66, of Tidioute was charged with pulling out in front of traffic Saturday after a motorcycle caring two people wrecked trying to avoid her vehicle. Both victims were transported to Warren General Hospital for treatment of injuries.
