Jamestown Police Shoot Suspect's Tire Out in Thursday Chase

By Robert Rizzuto
POSTED: June 5, 2009

Jamestown Police shot out a tire on a SUV driven by 32-year-old city resident Simeon A. Leeper Thursday around 6 p.m., after he fled from an attempted traffic stop on Barrett Avenue.

He was spotted turning into a private driveway on Elam Avenue and police say they told him to get out of the vehicle. Instead he tried to maneuver around the yard, almost hitting an officer.

It was then the officer shot out a tire, causing the SUV to crash into a small fence separating the two adjacent yards.

Leeper was taken to the county jail due to a parole violation and the incident is under investigation by numerous law enforcement agencies in the area. A full report will be in Saturday's edition of the Post Journal.

Way to go Post Journal. Wait almost 24 hours and then place it as "Breaking News". I looked for this story this morning and nothing.

When someone is placing innocent lives in danger by fleeing the police, I suggest the police aim significantly higher than the tires.

I'm sorry, was it a removable offense to mention the Leeper crime syndicate on the comment section? Or is it a CYA so they don't send hitmen to the P-J offices?
