Randolph Finishes First In Youth Trap League
May 5 marked the final round of match competition for the Southern Tier Scholastic Youth Trap League with the end of season Fun Day being held on May 9.
Randolph won top honors with a high score 1,036 team targets in match competition.
Panama's Jamie Short shot a perfect 25 in a shootout with Southwestern's Josh Unger to take the title of High Gun Male with a score of 141 while Unger took High Gun Male runner-up.
Short also shot his first season perfect score of 25 in match competition.
Sherman's Maggie Mason ended the season with a 115 for the High Gun Female and Ellicottville's Emily Foster shot a 113 for High Gun Female runner-up.
Southwestern was the high scorer for the day with 159 with Zach Berlund scoring a perfect 25.
The final competition ended with Western Conference team Southwestern beating Panama, 172-162; Sherman knocking off Maple Grove, 177-150; and Frewsburg topping Ripley, 166-122.
The Eastern Conference wrapped up the season with Franklinville edging out Pine Valley, 157-153; Ellicottville beating Randolph, 175-174; and Portville shooting the high score with a bye week of 179.
