SINCLAIRVILLE - Richard R. McKinney, 75, of Sinclairville, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at home, after a lenghty ill-ness surrounded by his fam-ily.

Born Sept. 5, 1933, in Dunkirk, son of Mildred Scott McKinney of Gerry and the late Harry A. McKinney (1962). A Chau-tauqua County resident most of his life, he was a 1951 Graduate of Fredonia High School and had at-tended Syracuse Universi-ty.

He was a Korean conflict veteran and served with the Army in Newfoundland and also with the Naval Reserve from 1963 to 1988, retiring as a command master chief.

He was employed at Carborundum/Monafrax of Falconer from 1960 to 1993, retiring as foreman of the mold department. He had also been employed as a bartender at the Henry Mosher American Legion Post 638 and Digies Bar and Grill. From 1969 to 1997 Dick was a part-time bus driver for Cassadaga Valley Central School and from 1998 to 2007 for CARTS. He had also driven truck for Wooster Truck Lines, worked with Ehmke Well Drillers and as a con-tractor doing roofing and siding.

Dick was a member of the Jamestown Naval Reserve Chiefs Club, Cas-sadaga Memorial American Legion Post 1280, War Veterans Recreation Club, enjoyed bowling, golf, traveling, cribbage, wood-working and wood burning, landscaping, bird watching and dancing. He especially treasured time with his fam-ily and friends.

Husband of nearly 53 years to Gayle S. Parnell McKinney, whom he mar-ried Oct. 6, 1956; father of Scot A. (Patricia) McKin-ney of Gerry, and Christofer McKinney of Jamestown; grandfather of Caitlin McKinney of Gerry, Mar-garet Riddell of Nampa, Idaho, and Michele Riddell of Frewsburg; brother of Duane (Marilyn) McKin-ney of Great Valley, Maureen ''Molly'' (War-ren) Nutt of Bemus Point, and Alan (Remy) McKin-ney of Wesley Chapel, Fla. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday in Jordan Fun-eral Home, Sinclairville, with Chaplain Dr. Edward Sischo officiating. Visita-tion 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Military services provided by Cassadaga Memorial Post 1280.
