James and Jacklyn Hopkins celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary with a Caribbean cruise. They are the parents of Jamie Richir of Jamestown, Janet Powell of Falconer and Steven Hopkins of Bradford, Pa. They also have five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Hopkins and the former Jacklyn Wensley were married March 27, 1954, in Falconer Baptist Church. The Rev. Loyal H. Weimer performed the ceremony.
Hopkins is retired from Sequoia Pacific Corp. and is employed part-time by Lutheran Social Services. Mrs. Hopkins is retired from Falconer High School, where she had been employed as a secretary. They attend Fluvanna Community Church, where Mrs. Hopkins is active in youth ministry.
