CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
POMFRET - John F. Kawski, 39, of Stockton was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right Wednesday, following a traffic stop on Fredonia-Stockton Road around 3:15 a.m. Deputies say he was pulled over when his vehicle crossed the center line, and was allegedly found to be intoxicated. He was processed and released with appearance tickets and will be in court later.
FREDONIA - Michael D. Bobik, 19, of Dunkirk was charged with DWI and failure to dim high beams Saturday following a traffic stop on West Main Road around 12:40 a.m. Deputies say he was pulled over for allegedly not dimming his high beams to oncoming traffic and was allegedly found to be intoxicated. He was given an appearance ticket and will be in court later.
HANOVER - Joseph R. Dittiger, 48, of Silver Creek was charged with felony DWI, failure to maintain lane and inadequate exhaust Tuesday following a traffic stop on Routes 5 and 20 around 10:22 a.m. Deputies say Dittiger was pulled over for allegedly driving out of his lane and for having an inadequate muffler on his vehicle, and was found to be intoxicated. A check of his license revealed that he was convicted of DWI within the past 10 years, which makes the current DWI charge a felony. He was processed and released with an appearance ticket and will be in court later.
DUNKIRK - Jessica Galardo, 24, of Dunkirk was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny Thursday following a joint investigation by the Sheriff's Department and the Department of Social Services Welfare Fraud Unit. Investigators say Galardo failed to report that she was employed resulting in her receiving $2,311.04 in Medicaid benefits to which she wasn't entitled. She was given an appearance ticket and will be in court later.
ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT
FALCONER - A 15-year-old youth was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny Thursday following an investigation by the resource officer at Falconer Central School. Police say the youth took a wallet with credit cards in it.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
Cody Nelsen, 21, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree assault Tuesday following an investigation into an incident which allegedly happened on March 24, 2008. He was taken into custody at his Cedar Street home and held awaiting arraignment.
