FRENCH CREEK - Two teens from Corry, Pa., have been charged in connection with an Oct. 19 burglary of a condo at Peek'n Peak.
Christopher S. Gibbons, 19, and Ryan A. Butcher, 17, both of Corry, Pa. were charged with felony second-degree burglary and felony third-degree grand larceny Thursday, following an investigation which spanned just over a week.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's Deputies took the initial complaint from the homeowners, who said big-screen TVs, electronic equipment, bedding, clothes and snowboards were among the missing items. The total value of the stolen items is approximately $11,000, according to deputies.
The day after the complaint was filed, deputies received a tip that led them to a home in Corry, where along with Corry police, a search warrant was executed. A number of the stolen items were allegedly found at that home and information then led police to Gibbons residence.
Deputies say more items belonging to the victims were allegedly found at his home, leading to charges being filed.
Both Gibbons and Butcher were arraigned in French Creek and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. They were also charged in Pennsylvania with receiving stolen property, which is also a felony.
Deputies say they believe a third person was involved in the crime and the investigation is ongoing, with charges expected to be filed against that person in the near future.
