LILY DALE - Lois L. Moody Thies, 82, of Lily Dale, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk.

Born Nov. 27, 1925 in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Donald and Ruth Morrison Tyrrel she attended Fredonia High School and was a Chautauqua County resident all of her life moving to Lily Dale in 1973.

Lois was a fulltime homemaker, loved life and family especially her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of the Lily Dale Assembly, Lily Dale Spiritualist Church and was past Children's Lyceum Director, Member and past President of Lily Dale VFD Auxiliary, member and past President of the Lily Dale Community Club and was involved in various volunteer work throughout the community. She also had a large collection of stuffed animals.

Wife of the late Carl B. Moody who she married Dec. 7, 1944 and died April 15, 1964, Willard F. Thies who died June 14, 1986; mother of Susan Moody Glasier of Lily Dale and Debby Kelley of Johnston, SC; Grandmother of Carl Perry; great-grandmother of Travis, Katelyn and Colin Perry all of Cassadaga; sister of Donald Tyrrel of FL and the late Nancy Tyrrel; dear friend of Donald A. Potter of Dunkirk, who resided with Lois for over 35 years. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is being planned and will be announced by Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville.
