James B. Dewan

James B. Dewan, 49, of New Woodstock, died suddenly Saturday, at his home in New Woodstock, N.Y.

He was born in Oneida, the son of Kenneth and Marie Dewan.

He was a graduate of Cazenovia Central Schools, Oneonta State College and the Baptist Bible Seminary of Clarks Summit, Pa. Jim was the former Pastor of Sinclairville Baptist Church in Sinclairville, N.Y. from 1995 to 2003.

He is predeceased by his father. Surviving are his wife, Colleen (nee McGarvey); his three daughters, Kathleen, Karis and Kristen of Downingtown, Pa.; his mother, Marie of New Woodstock; and his brothers: Kevin and Michael, both of Cazenovia.

Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Saturday at the Open Door Baptist Church in New Woodstock. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in New Woodstock Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: West Chester Christian School, 1237 Paoli Pike; West Chester, PA, 19380, whereby the children will be involved in helping select a special gift for their school.
