Several accidents tied up emergency crews in the area Friday with a few reported injuries, including a couple of trips to the hospital.
Just before 9 a.m., a collision on Baker Street was reported after Dorothy Galati, 81, of Jamestown was attempting to cross from Garfield Road to Howard Avenue in Busti.
A Lakewood-Busti police officer on the scene said Mrs. Galati didn't see the blue Toyota sport-utility vehicle driven by Joan M. Meyers, 44, driving west on Baker Street.
As Galati entered the westbound lane, Meyers attempted to stop, but hit the rear-passenger side of the vehicle, causing the car to spin out and come to rest facing the way it came but on Howard Avenue.
Busti fire and rescue crews were on the scene and ended up taking Galati to the hospital after she initially signed off on further treatment. She said that after a short walk, she felt like she should go and get checked out.
C&A Collision and Repair arrived on the scene to remove Galati's vehicle from the side of the road.
Then, around 11 a.m. in Jamestown, a motor vehicle accident scared a young mother with her 12-week-old child was on board.
Danielle Moran, 22, of Lakewood was traveling in Harrison Street making a left at Foote Avenue when Thomas J. Foti, 69, of Jamestown was driving on Foote Avenue and went around a car which he said was turning and the two collided.
Jamestown Police said both claimed to have the green light and different witnesses had different stories.
Moran's baby was determined to be uninjured after emergency medical technicians performed a check up, but police said Foti was taken to WCA hospital for unspecified injuries.
No charges were filed in connection with the accident.
Just before 3 p.m., a motorcycle and a Subaru Outback collided near the intersection of Allen Street Extension and Dow Street. No injuries were reported as both people involved signed off on treatment and Ellicott Police are still investigating the incident.
