Final Dementia Education Session Set

The Alzheimer's Association WNY chapter is holding its last dementia education session of its series ''Enhancing Communication in Dementia Care'' from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Comfort Today, 17 Gifford Ave., Jamestown.

The session will provide practical techniques for communicating with a person who has dementia. Verbal and non-verbal communication skills will be discussed, along with the decreased communication abilities that are part of both the aging and disease process.

The session is free and open to the public. Refreshments and snacks will be provided. To register, call the Alzheimer's Association WNY chapter at (800) 272-3900.

As a special service to caregivers attending the class, Memory Garden will provide activities and refreshments for memory-impaired loved ones during the educational class.
