Man Falls Off Summer Wind And Into Chautauqua Lake

Around 2:40 p.m. Thursday, Gary Beachel, 67, of Scottsburg, N.Y., fell into Chautauqua Lake after a metal plank connecting the Summer Wind and the dock at Celoron Park slipped, police say. He fell in between the boat and dock but was able to walk toward shore where Celoron firefighters helped him out of the water. He was taken to WCA Hospital because of a pre-existing medical condition, but officers say his injuries were not significant.
