Vickie L. Sluga
RANDOLPH - Vickie L. Sluga, 55, of 3056 Bunker Hill Road, Randolph, passed away at 4:40 P.M. Thursday July 24, 2008 at home under the care of Hospice and her loving family.
Vickie was born November 26, 1952 in Chester, Pa. the daughter of Samuel and Geraldine L. Smith Long.
Vickie was a 1970 graduate of Randolph Central School. Vickie was the former Town of Coldspring Town Clerk and had been employed by Register Graphics in Randolph, and had also been a substitute teacher at the Gail N. Chapman Elementary School at Randolph Central School and for the former Cooperative Insurance in Randolph.
She was a Member of the Faith Bible Chapel in Randolph and Choose Life of Jamestown.
She is survived by her parents of Steamburg, her husband of 35 years Charles A. ''Chuck'' Sluga, whom she married March 24, 1973 in the Steamburg United Church, a son Lee C. Sluga of Randolph, a niece whom she raised, Mandy Mann at home, two grandchildren, Vincent L. Sluga and Sydney M. Sluga both of Randolph, a brother Scott Long of Randolph, three sisters Cheryl Long of Jamestown, Sandra Long and Linda Dee both of New Mexico. She was preceded in death by a brother Blaine R. Long on September 22, 1979. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Faith Bible Chapel, 117 Jamestown Street, Randolph, from where the family will be present to receive family and friends one hour prior to the service. The family will also will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph. Burial will be in the Steamburg Cemetery.
