MAYVILLE - Cora ''Trudy'' Stebbins, 82, of 6708 Moore Road, Mayville, died Monday (July 21, 2008) in Westfield Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 6, 1926 in Buffalo, N.Y., the daughter of the late Dwight and Tommie Lancaster Burton.
Trudy was a graduate of Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing, and had been a registered nurse for the Chautauqua County Health Department in Mayville.
She was a member of the former Acanthus Chapter Order of Eastern Stars in Mayville, Jamestown Doll Study Club, Mayville Senior Citizens, Queen Esther Circle, Chautauqua Loan Closet, Mayville United Methodist Church, Walden Presbyterian Church in Buf-falo, Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, and had been a volunteer at the Thrift Shop and Food Pantry in Mayville.
Trudy enjoyed collecting dolls, knitting, crocheting, traveling to Myrtle Beach and all of her friends and family.
She is survived by three daughters: Carol (Brad) Samuelson of Ashville, Connie (Danny) Huddle of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Cindy Miller of Jamestown; two stepdaughters: Diana Stebbins and her fiance, Don Kreutz of Mayville, and Cheryl (Thomas) Gustafson of Mayville; one son, Carl Miller of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a foster son, Joseph (Tanya) O'Brien of Fort Mills, S.C.; a former AFS student, Ines Llorens of Argentina; 11grandchildren: David (Corine) Best of Mayville, Trisha (Thomas) Delcamp of Mayville, Cody Gustafson of Mayville, Erik (Braiden) Samuelson of Ashville, Brett Samuelson of Buffalo, Hunter O'Brien of Florida, Danny Huddle II, Andrew Huddle and Steven Miller, all of Myrtle Beach, Nicholas and Carolina Cordoza, both of Argentina; two great-granddaughters: Nova Best,and Jillian Delcamp, and another great-granddaughter to be born today July 23, 2008, Callie Rae Delcamp; a great-grandson, Collin Best; and a sister, Marion Raffel of Dracula, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clair Miller and her second husband, David Stebbins; and her stepmother, Dorothy Burton.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Freay Funeral Home, Mayville. The Rev. Mary Krahn, chaplain with Chautauqua County Hospice, will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and from 12:00 noon to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the funeral.
A Eastern Star memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
