Frances Lucille Dunn
LITTLE VALLEY — Frances Lucille Dunn, 95, formerly of Eighth Street, passed away at the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home in Springville.
She was born on October 23, 1912, in East Otto, the second daughter of Ceylon and Ida (Bowen) Sikes. Lu-cille Dunn married Bruce E. Dunn in 1933. He predeceased her in 2001. During their marriage of 69 years, the couple lived in Salamanca, East Otto and Little Val-ley. In 2006, Mrs. Dunn moved to Randolph Manor in Randolph. Pauline (Sikes) Burdick, her older sister, passed away in 1982.
Mrs. Dunn worked for many years as a professional caregiver to infants and new mothers. For 10 years, she supervised the daycare center at Holiday Valley in Ellicottville. She also worked for a time in the gift shop of Merow Hardware, where her husband was employed for many years. She was active in the Christian Science church in Salamanca and later in Bradford, Pa. In her later years, she attend the Whig Street Community Church.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Ross E. (Jeanne) Dunn, of La Mesa, Calif.; and by her granddaughters: Jordan (Frank) Catapano, of Santa Monica, Calif., and Jocelyn Dunn of Los Angeles. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Luigi Catapano and Natalie Catapano.
