Robert C. Taylor

CASSADAGA — Robert C. Taylor, 95, of 8250 Glasgow Road, Cassadaga, died Tuesday (Nov. 27, 2007) at Heritage Green Health Care in Greenhurst.

He was born May 31, 1912, in Johnson City, N.Y., the son of the late Chauncey and Charlotte Roberts Taylor.

He owned and operated Taylor Boat Sales on Cassadaga Lake, and had also been a Junior High School science teacher at Lake Shore Central School.

A veteran of the U.S. Army and of the Merchant Marines, having been on ship on the North Atlantic during World War II.

A member of the Cassadaga Lake Association, and of the Cassadaga Country Club since the 1940’s.

He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, and going to Canada every year to go fishing.

He is survived by one son, Robert P. Taylor of Cassadaga, and his faithful German Shepard, Heidi.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Maybelle Palmer Taylor who died in 2004; two brothers: Paul and Howard Taylor; and one sister, Marian Williams.

A memorial service will be held at 11 p.m. Saturday (June 14, 2008) in the Trinity Episcopal Church in Fredonia. The Rev. Robert Arnold, rector, will officiate. Burial will be in the Cassadaga Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Cassadaga Lakes Association.

The Freay Funeral Home, Mayville is in charge of arrangements.
