Born June 7, 1934, in Jamestown, daughter of the late James L. and Emma Smith McCann. A Chautau-qua County resident all of her life, she attended James-town Catholic schools.
Lue was employed at the Sinclairville Superette and Cassadaga Shure-Fine. She was a member of the Sin-clairville T.O.P.S.
Wife of 56 years to Clif-ford L. Gilbert whom she married July 26, 1952; mother of Debora (Robert) Carpenter of Ellington, Daniel of Sinclairville, Dennis (Kathleen) Gilbert of Kennedy; grandmother of Michael Carpenter of Elling-ton, Sarah Carpenter-Szczodrowski of Charlotte, N.C., John and Karen Gilbert-Thomas, both of Phoenix, Ariz., Mark of Panama, Kristina of Forest-ville, Charles of Oceanina, Va., Dennis and Adam Gil-bert, both of Kennedy; sister of Nancy Mower of Sinclair-ville, Fred McCann of Fitzgerald, Ga., and the late Janet Whitehill.
Graveside service 12 p.m. Sunday in Cassadaga Cemetery, Maple Ave., Cas-sadaga.
