DiMaio Running For Position On Frewsburg School Board

FREWSBURG — Alexander DiMaio is running for a position on the Frewsburg School Board in Tuesday’s election.
DiMaio, of Ivory Road in Frewsburg, is a 1972 graduate of Jamestown High School and has lived in Frewsburg for the past 9¢ years.
‘‘The knowledge and experience I have gained over the years I feel I would be an asset to the Frewsburg School Board,’’ DiMaio said. ‘‘I am a good listener and look forward to the challenge of working with today’s times.’’
He is a 33-year employee of the Jamestown public works department, serving as a service technician, mechanic, senior mechanic. He currently holds the position of equipment manager, overseeing operations of maintenance garage, writing new vehicle specs for equipment, and purchasing of equipment.
Since 2001, DiMaio has been a Frewsburg volunteer fireman, holding a trustee position since 2003. He is a six-year member of the Sons of the American Legion and has been a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club since 1982.
For 30 years, he was a member of the Vikings Lodge, during which time he held positions on the House Committee and was the lodge’s auditor.
DiMaio became a member of the Club Associates of Chautauqua County and was also a member of the Viking Boat Club, Viking Trailer Association — which involved clearing areas, meetings with the town and opening new campsites on the Viking Lake Park grounds.
He has been married for 21 years to his wife, Marybeth. Together they have a 13-year-old son, Brandon, who attends Frewsburg Central High School. He and his family are members of the Lady of Victory church in Frewsburg. He enjoys four-wheeling with family and friends, swimming and boating, sporting events with his son, outdoor activities, and mechanical repairs.
