Red Raiders Clinch Tie For ECIC Title

Tobias Tosses Five-Hitter; Jamestown Can Wrap Up Crown This Afternoon

POSTED: May 17, 2008

WILLIAMSVILLE — Andy Tobias added a few more strikeouts to his career total, ending the day with his 208th, in helping Jamestown to clinch at least a share of the Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 championship.

And aided by potent bats from several sources, the Red Raiders (9-2, 11-8) rolled to a 5-1 win over Williamsville North (3-9, 7-12) on Friday afternoon.

Tobias was steady in earning the complete-game victory, collecting five strikeouts while surrendering five hits and not giving up a hit after the fourth inning

Brett Mlacker led the offensive attack for the Red Raiders, drilling two triples and a home run with one RBI, Jarrett Bielata doubled, singled and scored twice and Tom Tantillo doubled and singled.

Jamestown will be playing its final league game of the season at noon today against West Seneca West at the Martin Road complex.
