June 11, 2014

CrooksandLiars, they're all paid state prevailing wages that drive the property tax system higher. Yeah, great for the guy making $23.00 an hour to man a shovel. The 2 drivers are not allowed to pick up a shovel and help, even if they are doing nothing. Every person you saw was making over $20.00 an hour and can only do the job per their job description and pay grade, iirc. Boss stands and looks while giving orders, shovel guy digs and that's all he can do, Can't even drive the truck if needed. Also, no competition so no incentive to work hard or do good work. Just put in hours and pick up pay check. Think how much money is wasted by mandated state wages.

A state trooper had somebody pulled over just past that light at 9:30 at night the other day. When you put lights in the middle of nowhere, for no reason, people will run them. I think they put the light up to collect revenue for the state knowing that folks will run it when there's no one around. Just happens to be a state trooper watching a light in the middle of nowhere.

Our Govt. tears up 20 projects and waits long periods of time to complete the first one! So we have 20 const. areas in Jmst. rather than ONE at a time. Go fig. It's a Govt. job.

The Other Day watched the DOT Fixing holes at Driveway Entrances on Rt394, 2 Trucks, 2 Drivers, 2 guys on Shovels, 1 guy on tamper, 1 guy on hand spreader. 1 guy, guess he was the boss watching. 7 people to fill holes at how much be hour? Would be cheaper to pay a local company to do the repairs, they would probably do a better job too.
