A Letter To Andrew M. Cuomo

May 4, 2014

To the Readers’ Forum: Sitting here at my desk I am thinking of two great men. One was mounting up 239 years ago. That would be Paul Revere. Maybe no longer ......

Jerry...A. Great letter! Your dad was one of the best men to walk the planet. He taught both of us well in the meaning of what our country stands for. I will never forget the many conversations and good times with him and your family. We will stand and fight for what is right!

Dengo - let me get this straight...You refer to George Washington and the militia, then the National Guard. How does that relate to NY? The NY National Guard was formed around 1917 I believe. The militia was made up of individuals with their own firearms. As the 2nd says "KEEP and bear arms". Can't keep if you don't have....

Gun control doesn't work, it only takes weapons from the law abiding people. Crime stats from big cities that have tried it, such as DC and Chicago, speak loudly about that. And the right to keep and bear arms is not limited to the militia, this is shown by both the grammar of the 2nd Amendment and any knowledge of American history. Funny how my grandfather and great-grandfather knew that but libs today are so ignorant. Furthermore, in general Cuomo is a godless, immoral fool and the worst governor in our state's history.

Just another letter from a block-head who doesn't understand that there is a desire from citizens to curb certain aspects of the availability of weapons. Hey Jughead, you can still own firearms. No one called you a criminal and you can still protect your family. However, who's gonna protect us from your idiotic misconceptions?

How many of the gun owners in New York State belong to the militia, as instructed in the second amendment. George Washington had very specific planes about a well organized militia,it Call the National Guard. Georgia passed a law that you can carry a gun anywhere, school, church, movie theaters. The only place you can't carry a gun is in the state house. I am probably naive to the fact that the last time their was gun violence around hear was drug related. Maybe everyone should carry a fire extinguisher to make sure that you can fight a fire, carry a portable defibrillator so you help a heart attack person, or a epipen to stop an allergic reaction to a stranger. Kinda silly isn't it.

THIS JUST IN: Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York. This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank. The people of Mexico , who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning. The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as - Sinko de Mayo.

Cuomo is making a run for president. He is doing all the "right things" to make him look good nationally. HE is going after guns, tough on education, tax caps, as attorney general he went after corruption pretty hard. I wager when he goes, most of this will disappear.

The stats do not back up gun control. Houston is the fourth biggest city in the US. San Antonio and Phoenix are also in the top seven. If there was a lot of gun violence in these pro gun cities it would be all over the news. Chicago is #3, one ahead of Houston. If you are going to push legislation you need data they works in your favor and it's just not there.

It is easy to see which way the sentiments of the populous is going. Cuomo will probably say his lies enough times to STAY in office and disarm the people. He couldn't care less what the people want. He feels that we have Govt. of the people, by the Govt., FOR the Govt., He's really confused and needs replaced.

It's like you read my heart and converted it into a well written letter. I wish my dad taught us about gun safety. Nope, they were just well hidden and never talked about. One day I'll take a class and get one myself.
