In 58 years they never thought about moving the plumbing to an inside wall? How about some insulation?

Well well well Dorothy, That's great... I haven't had any frozen pipes in over 60 years; I just take a little Geritol.

Smart lady. Also, insulate exposed pipes and add heat tape if possible.
