Criticism Of Rabb Is Misinformed

January 30, 2014

To The Reader’s Forum: I was quite surprised and saddened to read an article criticizing the Jamestown City Council President, Dr. Greg Rabb, in a letter to The Post-Journal’s editor....

I hope Rev Mel, Pastors Short & Ericson and Dr. Blair like what has grown from the seeds they have sown. Willie is their harvest and he blames it all on his "christian" beliefs. Nice job, Revs!

Straight people getting HIV/AIDS is like nonsmokers inhaling second hand tobacco smoke? So, just standing next to some gay people is gonna give you HIV/AIDS? Or something??

You're quickly sliding into the ludicrous.

Your "jokes" about proctologists aren't funny either.

"and, one more thing, straight people get AIDS too."

Yes, just like people get cancer from second hand smoke. It's unfortunate that the gay community's diseases can spill over into the whole community. It's sad.

I knew it wouldn't be long before personal attacks from willymoejoe would start in.

I wonder which church willymoejoe goes to. If they really support vilifying people the way he has in this discussion, then I'll want to warn people to avoid it.

willymoejoe keeps trying to turn this issue into a religious debate. We are talking about CIVIL marriage and CIVIL rights. Your religion gets no say in the matter. You can quote Bible verses into infinity, until they change the 1st amendment to make our government a theocracy, you'd be wasting your breath.

When you use vile and dishonest language, as you already have in this discussion, your prejudice and animosity are plainly illustrated. That you would use hateful rhetoric like that belies your claim of being truly Christian and supports the apparent fact that you use religious rhetoric just to give your hate a veneer of justifiability.

and, one more thing, straight people get AIDS too. I would think, if God wanted to target LGBT people, he's have better aim than that.

The Jamestown community has reached a new historic low when the City Council President defends sick, perverted, gross, immoral, degrading behavior like two dudes climbing into bed together and playing with each other's private parts! Remember Sodom and Gomorrah? God burned it down didn't he? Why? Because of homosexual activity. It's called fiery judgment. Read, it's in the Bible. AIDS is God's curse on the LGBTQ community, for its blatant disobedience to the moral law of God. How many more will die? As many as it takes until people realize that God hates gay sex, period. Call that hate or anti-gay or whatever, it makes no difference, AIDS kills just the same and will continue to kill until the gay behavior is stopped. AIDS is catalyzed and fueled by gay sex primarily, although fornicators, adulterers and other sinners better beware also. Listen to God, stop mumbling among yourselves, ye sinners! Stop defending buggery!

It's interesting that Willie blames God for making him hate and professes to worry about others' souls. I would suggest he needs to worry a bit more about his own soul first and stop fixating on "dudes bumpin' ugly" so much.

willymoejoe goes out of his way to use disgusting words and dishonestly inflammatory rhetoric to defame gay men (& never mentions lesbians for some reason) and wants us to believe that he's doing this as an expression of religion. He uses egregious language gleaned from anti-gay hate groups like the AFA and FRC and asks us to swallow his lies about gay men because he is just agreeing with God.

I wonder where those Christians are who tell us that they don't agree with things that willymoejoe and the other anti-gay haters say? Where's Rev. Mel's condemnation of this hate? Where are the other pastors like Dr Blair, who claim Christian love but don't speak up to the filth that's coming from willymoejoe's mind? Do they agree with his statements? Do they think it's a good thing to write things like that?

All the things willymoejoe writes about could be said of heterosexual couples with the same level of accuracy. Hate is ugly and willymoejoe has shown us a bit of how ugly it can

". . . maybe I've simply read the Bible and hate what God hates . . ."

I'm impressed that you think you have such a direct connection to the Deity. Just like the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas, it seems. Next we'll be hearing from you that you love gay men but hate the sin?

Let me suggest that you read 1 Corinthians 13, and Matthew 7 before telling us how your version of the Bible justifies your self admitted hate. Then tell us, please, how promoting civil marriage "promotes" sodomy? Do you really think if Jamestown suppresses marriage ceremonies that people will have less sex?

Not only are your rants full of hate and animosity, they make no sense when they are considered logically. Indeed, they lend credence to the idea that your opinion is completely irrational.

"Indeed, willymoejoe's seeming obsession about what gay men do in bed does make me wonder where the motivation behind his extreme animosity lies."

1. maybe I'm a closet homosexual in denial. 2. maybe I had a painful homosexual experience as a prepubescent boy. 3. maybe I've simply read the Bible and hate what God hates, like homosexual activity.

Take a guess.

Emelye, Greg Rabb knows that homosexuality is highly offensive to god-dearing and moral citizens of Jamestown, and he knows that so-called gay marriage was a highly controversial and deeply divisive political issue. So in setting as his goal making Jamestown a gay marriage headquarters, he's getting up in the face of a lot of citizens! He's being extremely insensitive and frankly belligerent. He's looking for trouble, and he's got it. He's pushing an in-your-face agenda and thinks he can get away with it. Well, that's not going to happen. He thinks it's ok for two dudes to be bumpin ugly and he wants society to bless that filthy rotten behavior with a marriage certificate? How low does this kind of stuff go?

Emelye, I wouldn't be surprised if someone didn't flag your comments and the post-journal pull your comment because of your overt and direct reference to two specific types of sex. But I wouldn't, because I believe in freedom of speech, unlike Monkeyboy, who seems to want to censor anyone he disagrees with. Monkeyboy, do think Emelye's post should be pulled? I didn't hear any protest of it. Anyway, I object to two dudes having sex, not a man and woman having sex. Dah! I object to a man caring on with a man as if it were a woman, like Council person Rabb advocates. I find that gross, immoral, perverse. According to the Christian God, such people will face the fiery judgment of hell, unless they repent. If you don't believe that, take your chances. But don't say I didn't warn you as the fire starts getting hot.

By making civil equality in marriage laws all about sex, willymoejoe tried to defame LGBT people with inflammatory rhetoric and prejudicial assumptions. We could just as easily proclaim heterosexual marriage and sex as deviant since heterosexual couples just as often engage in oral and an al sex as LGB people do. willymoejoe's extreme bias is also glaringly illuminated by his obsession with physical acts while we're talking about civil rights and promoting economic activity in out fair city.

Indeed, willymoejoe's seeming obsession about what gay men do in bed does make me wonder where the motivation behind his extreme animosity lies.

You are deep into hate speech now Willie and I really hope your last post gets pulled. Some hate speech is protected by the first amendment but this forum is controlled by the Post-Journal and they can pull any comments that are deemed grossly offensive, as yours are.

willymoejoe says, "You'll have to do better, like coming up with stronger arguments for your position." So when you said, "Gay sex is maggot infested," did you follow your own advice?

Gravelpit, intimidation doesn't work, calling something "hate" to silence free speech doesn't cut it anymore. You'll have to do better, like coming up with stronger arguments for your position. Until then, give up your feeble attempt at silencing opponents by throwing around words like "hate" or "anti" etc. That's childish anyway. If you don't like someone's argument, make a stronger one, But stop trying to silence free speech. I oppose dudes butt thumping. If you think that's "hate" so be it. I could label you an anti-Christian or anti-religious bigot. But let's not go there, ok.

Monkeyboy, sodomy is derived from the word "Sodom" which is a reference to the evil, wicked city in ancient times known for its homosexuality, and which was destroyed in judgment by God. Sodomy is homosexual sex, sodomite is anyone engagement in homosexual sex. The word also has a few other nuances, but that's essentially its definition. So I'd say it's relevant to the Greg Rabb discussion. Greg is a sodomite who wants to turn Jamestown into a Sodom. I oppose that, or you might say, anti-that, or against it happening.

Ya know, Willie, you really didn't HAVE to mention anything about sodomy since it wasn't relevant here.
