Gee, I've ignored this enlightening excahnge. How sad to have missed all this 'content'. All the more reason to wonder why and how these respondents are allowed to register their views without, as the original poster had to, identifying him or herself? What small amount of intelligence is registered in these exchanges? How much learning? How much vile? How much antisocial posturing that this site not only allows but entertains. Why in God's name should these comments be published? What of a positive nature do they advance? What is the role of local journalism to facilitate "communication" that might be conducive to the common good? I blame the editor for allowing this nonsensical situation. If you want, create a website where anyone can converse and joust at their own initiative: these responses are unfair, UNFAIR, to those whose original comments were offered in their own names. Oh, lest I forget, Reed is among those whose views lack substance or relevance.

Seadog, why I vote for whom I do, and why you vote for who you do - this is a retaliation question? Please somebody with something intelligent to debate with would be appreciated.

Seadog, you asked where I was (Dec-07-13 12:59 AM) and then never responded to my comment. How rude!

I am always happyof vote for reasonable moderate thinking Republicans which Congressman Reed is not. He will not get my vote and I will be voting for the most liberal persona I have ever even considered voting for from Ithaca. You see, when you damage our nation, you fail to provide anything to our district, you don't get my vote.

You righties will never admit that W got us in so bad that he (yes W. himself) had to start the stimulus program. You know that but won't acknowledge it. Obama had to continue the stimulus or we would have seen the biggest depression since the crash of 1929. How soon you forget that Clinton had a surplus! You don't want to remember that, do you? Then comes W and the stock market falls to half, yes half its value. You don't want to talk about that either, do you? Auto industry? Gone, besides Ford, and maybe even them without Obama. So much more, so much time wasted on .... never mind, I'll be nice.

Like I said, Seadog, I can't understand why you and Reed want to bankrupt this country, destroy the currency, causing turmoil around the globe. By shutting down the government and refusing to pay our commitments (raising the debt ceiling) this is exactly what will happen. Now is the time for your do-nothing house of reps to see to it that we don't spend so much that we need to raise the debt ceiling. But, alas, they are doing nothing, no budget, nothing. A few more days and just going home for the holidays. So, why do you want the United States to become a third world country? I don't expect an answer.

The bottom lime here, folks, is that Reed is an extremist right wing tea partier and if those are your views then you need to vote for him. If you think that the United States needs to default on its promissory notes, go bankrupt and have a different world currency then by all means support Tom Reed. We can let the rest of the world decide our fate while we just sit back and enjoy ourselves. I also didn't realize there were so many "1%er's" here in Jamestown. Good for you. Live your high and mighty life and be sure nothing gets trickled down. Don't create those horrible jobs that you have to keep track of. Trickle up, my friends, and enjoy.

Wow, I just read, for the first time, 111 comments even though it shows there have been 115 comments in total. Must be 4 have been deleted. gravelspit would do well to review his comments once in a while. Maybe it would occur to him just how many of his comments are nonsensical and irrelevant. I, for one, would like to know just what his actual, personal experience has been with Obamacare that makes him so enraptured with the law. Please be specific, gravel. If Obamacare has allowed you to purchase insurance, what are your monthly premiums, deductibles, co-pays and network doctors going to look like? I ask because not one person that I know of who has signed up for a policy with Obamacare has seen an improvement in cost or healthcare unless they are on what basically amounts to subsidized Medicaid Plus.

Spending inflated by the stimulus programs being brought back to original spending is not a cut. The extra spending is allowed to expire. Progs lie about it all.

That we need a $700 BILLION dollar defense budget is a farce and a lie promoted by the military industrial complex to keep draining taxpayer funds into their own pockets. I'm not advocating for $0 on defense, stop putting words in my mouth. I'm saying it's too much, unnecessary and a scam designed to rip us off.

lol, now I "hate" America because I disagree with Seadog, and I should just go away and move to some other country because . . .

Your truly unamerican attitudes are coming out for all to see, Seadog. You want dissent and a loyal opposition to go away. You denigrate and insult on a personal level instead of argue in good faith and think that it actually counts as something.

I wonder what other fantasies "He" is going to spin about me to make "himself" look good?
