SilentD, The City didn't schedule when it was to be repaired. It was a state project. It wasn't supposed to be fixed until next year or even the year after, however after a great deal of lobbying by our city leaders, the state moved the project up and gave the city very short notice. A little inconvenience for the races but a much needed repair to a major road.

However, the City should not have scheduled the project during the Inaugrual Lucy Town Half Marathon *nd 5K. This event had been on the City's calendar for over a year. Over 700 runners and walkers from 27 states participated in the weekend series. Race organziers needed to change the 5K course and drivers trying to avoid the construction zones increased traffic on the Half Marathon course.
